Developed skills and lines of research

Anna Atlante obtained a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Bari in 1983. Since 1988 she has been a researcher at the CNR in Bari and since 2001 she has been first researcher at the same facility. Her research activity has focused on the study of mitochondrial bioenergetics under pathophysiological conditions; the effect of hypertension on bioenergetic processes; and bioenergetics in cell death. His expertise in cellular mitochondria has recently been applied to the field of cystic fibrosis, with the aim of discovering what is the relationship between mitochondria activity and the mutated CFTR protein F508del, in order to identify possible new therapeutic targets aimed at the recovery of this protein..

Projects funded by FFC Ricerca as Principal Investigator or as Research Manager
