Developed skills and lines of research
Alessandro Bartoloni received his medical degree in 1983 from the University of Florence. In 1987 he specialized in Infectious Diseases at the University of Siena. He also obtained a diploma in Tropical Medicine at the Institut de Médicine Tropicale Prince Leopold in Antwerp (Belgium) in 1991. Since 2002, he has been Associate Professor at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, University of Florence. Since 2005, he has been director of the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Unit, Careggi University Hospital, Florence.
For cystic fibrosis, he is working to know and diagnose pulmonary pathological manifestations due to the fungus Aspergillus, for more targeted antifungal therapies.
