Lucilla Nobbio is a senior biologist at the Neurology Clinic Unit of the IRCCS San Martino Polyclinic Hospital in Genoa.
After earning her degree in Biological Sciences in 1994, she obtained a specialization in Medical Genetics in 1999 and a PhD in Neurology, Psychiatry, and Neurogenetics in 2004 from the University of Genoa.
Her primary research interests include the myelination of the nervous system under both physiological and pathological conditions, qualitative and quantitative neuropathology, and disease biomarkers for nervous system disorders. Specific areas of interest include studying molecular mechanisms, optimizing therapeutic strategies, and identifying biomarkers for hereditary and immune-mediated neuropathies, as well as demyelinating and neurodegenerative diseases of the central nervous system.
She is the author or co-author of 45 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 2 book chapters, and the inventor of 1 patent.
