Developed skills and lines of research
Alba Silipo obtained her degree in Chemistry from the University of Naples Federico II in 2001 and was awarded a PhD in Chemistry from the same university in 2004. Since 2007, she has been a Researcher in Organic Chemistry at the Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry of the University of Naples. Her research experience began as a university student with the isolation, purification, and structural characterization of bacterial lipopolysaccharides and glycolipids. She is currently involved in the isolation and structural characterization of bacterial lipopolysaccharides and in the study of the molecular mechanisms underlying immune recognition, focusing on the interaction of proteins and carbohydrates involved in the immune response, through NMR and conformational analysis. She is co-author of over 65 publications in international journals.
