The Foundation’s Scientific Committee selects research projects to fund based on two key objectives: improving current treatments to increase both the quality and duration of patients’ lives, and addressing the basic defect that causes cystic fibrosis in order to find a definitive cure for all. To support the researchers’ network, the Foundation also invests in three research facilities.
Here are listed all research projects funded by the Foundation from 2002 to today, divided by scientific area. The FFC Ricerca Scientific Committee selects them according to two fundamental goals: improving the available treatments to increase the quality of life of pwCF; finding a definitive cure for CF acting on the basic defect.
Through agreements with qualified institutions, the Foundation finances three support services for its research network:
Committed to transparency, the Foundation keeps project sponsors and individual donors informed by sharing the results once research projects are completed. In addition to selecting and funding cutting-edge cystic fibrosis research, the Foundation ensures that the outcomes of funded and adopted projects are openly disseminated.
