DATA CONTROLLER
Following the consultation of this website, data related to identified or identifiable persons may be processed as detailed below. The Data Controller is the Fondazione per la Ricerca sulla Fibrosi Cistica ETS, based at Ospedale Maggiore Borgo Trento, Piazzale Stefani 1, 37126 Verona (hereinafter, the “Foundation,” “FFC,” or the “Controller”). The Controller has appointed attorney Michela Maggi as Data Protection Officer (DPO), who can be contacted at the following addresses: michela.maggi@milano.pecavvocati.it and mmaggi@maggilegal.it.
DATA PROCESSING LOCATION
Personal data is stored within the Foundation and on servers located within the European Union and is handled only by employees and collaborators authorized to process the data or by any persons in charge of occasional maintenance operations. In any case, should it become necessary, the Controller reserves the right to transfer personal data outside the EU. In such cases, the Controller ensures that any transfer of data outside the EU will be carried out in compliance with applicable legal provisions. In the absence of an adequacy decision by the European Commission, any processing of personal data in non-EU countries will only be possible if adequate contractual or regulatory guarantees are in place, including binding corporate rules and standard contractual clauses for data protection, by the Controllers and Processors involved.
TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED
Browsing data
The IT systems and software procedures responsible for operating this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.
These are pieces of information that are not collected to be associated with identified individuals but that, by their very nature, could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.
This category of data includes IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who connect to the site, addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user’s operating system and IT environment.
FFC does not use such data, even for the purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information about the use of the site.
The data could be used to ascertain liability in case of hypothetical computer crimes against FFC or third parties.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files used to store some information about the use of our website while browsing. They are stored on the device when the website is loaded into the browser. Data collected via the “Become a Volunteer” form – Newsletter
Data voluntarily submitted through the online form in the “Become a Volunteer” section will be used by the Foundation to contact the candidate and manage their application to join our volunteer program.
The same form includes a consent module for a separate purpose, which is the sending of newsletters containing institutional and informational communications in the form of informative emails, traditional mail, phone communications, SMS/MMS, messages via WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, WeChat, Viber, and social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
It is possible to complete the “Become a Volunteer” section without subscribing to the newsletter, which is based on the user’s explicit consent.
Data from the Questions and Answers section
The Questions and Answers section collects the user’s first and last name as well as all data voluntarily entered in the question itself. The data will be used to respond to the request and, if the question is of interest to other users of the site, it may be published anonymously, without reference to the identifying data of the person who asked the question.
Data related to donations and bequests
To collect, manage, and report donations, the Foundation collects identifying data (first name, last name, residence, tax code) and information related to the method chosen for the payment, depending on the method used (account identifiers for payments via PayPal, Satispay, credit card, postal transfer, bank transfer). To collect, manage, and report bequests, in addition to the identifying data of the testator, executor, and heirs, specific data related to the acquisition of the donated asset(s) is processed.
Donations to Third Sector Entities require specific reporting and tax transparency obligations, so all data necessary to fulfill legal obligations will be processed.
Data voluntarily provided by the user or otherwise collected with the user’s consent, including surveys
Data collected in forms, emails, and surveys, such as name, surname, tax code, residence, date of birth, profession, email address, and any contact details (postal and/or telephone), will be used to respond to requests or, with explicit consent, to send institutional and informational communications, including newsletters, informative emails, traditional mail, phone communications, SMS/MMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, WeChat, Viber messages, and social media communications on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
This category also includes images of individuals who explicitly consent to their processing for the purpose of publishing their photographs on the Foundation’s websites or social media channels, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, WeChat, Viber, LinkedIn, and Twitter, for fundraising or awareness purposes.
If the image depicts a minor, consent from both parents or the legal guardian is required.
